Sam Broad is a printmaker, painter, automatist, muralist, illustrator and picture framer. Described as ‘quirky Kiwiana’, his work plays on classic New Zealand icons like the buzzy bee and hei tiki in his work. His woodcut prints and giclee are printed on high quality archival print paper. He uses premium inks for his woodcuts, which he hand prints in his studio. All prints are numbered editions. Broad’s designs have been used for tattoos, logos and shower doors. He draws inspiration from graphic novels, old signage and comics amongst other things. He is a member of the Run Amuck artist’s collective. Hiss prints have been exhibited around New Zealand, Australia and London and he has been practicing printmaking for over a decade.
