Letham Gallery is an historic brick building in the heart of Ponsonby. The gallery displays contemporary New Zealand fine art from a diverse range of artists in varying stages of their career. The Letham offers an eclectic range of art work with a philosophy that the art should be displayed in a non-threatening environment and be enjoyed by all. The Letham has a homely relaxed atmosphere where the public can view art at their leisure while at the same time extending their experiences.
Exhibitions are held every 4 weeks in the main gallery and run for two weeks. Between exhibitions we display an ever-changing and (sometimes challenging) range of work from our stable of artists.
DIRECTORS
The Letham Gallery is run by Anna Hanson and Donna Hanson who have a wealth of knowledge of the fine art industry with both having completed fine art qualification at university level. Anna worked 20 years in the interior design industry before joining the gallery 4 years ago. Donna has pursued a career in the commercial film industry as an art director as well as following her passion for sculpture, exhibiting in New Zealand and abroad before joining the Letham in 2007. Together they bring to the gallery a commitment to the relationships of the gallery's client base and the artists they represent.
As part of the knowledgable and friendly team are Suzannah Mckenzie and Kate Bailey who run the weekend hours. Both are fun and highly qualified to answer all your questions.
